Reflecting on the School Business Professional Summit: Connecting with Schools and Trusts

Key Site Staffing Takeaways from the Summit
Throughout the day, we spoke with school business managers and trust leaders about their school site staffing needs. With many facing ongoing recruitment challenges, we highlighted how our pre-vetted, trained, and community-minded school caretakers can help keep their sites running smoothly, whether they need temporary cover or a permanent hire.
For multi-academy trusts, we also shared details of our free Priority Service, which offers a fast-track enquiry process, dedicated point of contact, free temp-to-perm transfer after 12 weeks, and 10% discount on the first month of cover for all trust schools.
Beyond the great conversations, we came away with valuable insights into the evolving needs of school business leaders. A few key themes emerged:
- Reliability is key – Schools need caretakers who are dependable and ready to step in with minimal onboarding.
- The need for pre-vetted staff – Time-strapped schools and trusts want to ensure that any new hire meets KCSIE standards in advance, to prevent any delays in fulfilling the vacancy.
A streamlined hiring process – Business managers are looking for efficient solutions that reduce the admin burden of recruiting site staff.

Between insightful discussions, we took a moment to appreciate the surroundings and, of course, put our famous yellow tape measures to the test. Our ambitious attempt to measure Big Ben confirmed its true height... at just 30cm!
