Caretaker – Secondary School (Coventry Area)

TIB Services, a trusted organisation specialising in school site staffing, is acting on behalf of a secondary school based in the Coventry area. We are seeking a proactive and organised Caretaker to join the school site team on a temporary basis.

About the Role

You will play a key part in the everyday running of a modern, new-build secondary school, ensuring the site remains safe, secure and welcoming for students, staff, and visitors. This role involves unlocking the school site each morning, managing technological systems, and carrying out planned and reactive maintenance. A strong understanding of compliance and health & safety is essential.

Your Responsibilities

• Unlocking the school site at the start of each day
• Overseeing and operating site technology and security systems
• Keeping areas clear and tidy, including general maintenance tasks
• Ensuring compliance with health & safety and site regulations
• Carrying out routine and minor repairs as required
• Supporting the wider site team and working well both independently and collaboratively
• Maintaining accurate records and reporting issues promptly

What We're Looking For

• Reliable, professional, and proactive approach
• Demonstrable experience as a caretaker, ideally in a secondary school environment
• Good DIY and general maintenance skills
• Confident managing technology in a modern school setting
• Organised and able to use your initiative
• Strong understanding of safeguarding, compliance, and health & safety responsibilities
• Effective time management and communication skills
