This year’s theme "Steady Hands, Bold Futures: Collaboration, Community and the Challenge of Inequality" resonated deeply with our team. We believe that for school leaders to maintain a "bold vision" for their pupils, they need the "steady hands" of a reliable operational foundation.

Throughout the day, we spoke with many delegates about how a safe, well-maintained environment is not just a backdrop, but a vital component in tackling inequality and delivering the best possible outcomes for students. At TIB Services, our mission is to provide that stability through reliable site staffing.



Key Conversations and Takeaways

Our stand was busy with discussions regarding the evolving pressures on school estates. Some of the key themes that emerged from our conversations in Newcastle included:

  • Solving the recruitment headache: Many leaders shared the challenges of finding proactive, reliable site staff. We enjoyed explaining how our KCSIE pre-vetting and training processes ensure that our candidates are "school-ready" from day one.
  • Building resilient teams: We discussed strategies for managing long-term absences and how MATs can build a more resilient site team across multiple schools.
  • Strategic staffing: It was great to explore how moving from reactive hiring to a more strategic, long-term staffing plan can alleviate pressure on senior leadership and business managers.
