Caretaker – Primary School (Temporary) – Surrey

We are looking for a reliable and proactive caretaker to join a friendly primary school based in the Surrey area. This is a temporary position providing essential site support, covering for an existing staff member. The role involves general caretaking duties such as keeping areas clear and tidy, carrying out basic repairs, supporting safety checks, unlocking and securing the site, and helping ensure a welcoming environment for staff and pupils. Working hours align with school times and offer flexibility if needed.

Pay: £13.45-£14.80 per hour (£15.07-£16.59 including rolled up holiday pay), paid monthly.

Your Responsibilities

Keeping school areas clear and tidy
Carrying out minor repairs and basic DIY tasks
Supporting site safety and security (opening and locking up)
Monitoring supplies and reporting maintenance issues
Supporting school events and setting up spaces when needed

Reliable, professional and proactive attitude
Good DIY and maintenance skills
Understanding of safeguarding, health & safety, and compliance in a school setting
Friendly and approachable, with good communication skills
