Caretaker – Secondary School (Rutland)

We’re looking for a proactive individual to join a busy secondary school based in the Rutland area as a caretaker. This is a hands-on role covering afternoon and evening hours (14:00–22:00), and involves keeping areas clear and tidy, locking up at the end of the day, and carrying out minor repairs and maintenance to keep the school running smoothly.

Pay rate: £13.45–£14.80 per hour (£15.07–£16.59 including rolled up holiday pay), paid monthly.

Your Responsibilities

Keeping school areas clear and tidy throughout your shift
Locking up the school buildings at the end of the day
Completing minor repairs and site maintenance tasks as needed
Supporting a safe and welcoming environment for students and staff

What We're Looking For

Reliable, professional and proactive approach to work
DIY skills and confidence with minor repairs
Understanding of safeguarding, compliance, and health & safety
Friendly attitude and a commitment to making a positive impact in the school community
