Caretaker – Primary School (Devon)

Join a welcoming primary school based in the Devon area as a caretaker. This flexible, part-time role is ideal for someone who enjoys painting, small repairs, general maintenance, and a hands-on approach to keeping areas clear and tidy. You’ll work just 1 day per week or split your hours across 2 mornings (8 hours total), supporting the school site by handling essential DIY tasks and helping to create a safe, well-maintained environment for pupils and staff.

Pay rate: £13.45-£14.80 per hour (£15.07-£16.59 including rolled up holiday pay), paid monthly.

Your Responsibilities

Painting and decorating as needed around the school site
Completing small repairs and routine DIY tasks
Undertaking general site maintenance to keep areas clear and tidy
Monitoring and reporting any site issues or safety concerns
Supporting the school team to maintain a safe and welcoming environment

What we're looking for

Reliable, professional, and proactive with strong DIY skills
Understanding of the importance of safeguarding, compliance, and health & safety in a school setting
Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
Good communication and a friendly approach
