Caretaker – School Site Support (Blackpool)

Join us as a caretaker based in the Blackpool area, supporting a local school with a wide range of site duties. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be opening and locking up the building, carrying out minor repairs, completing important compliance checks, and helping coordinate minibus repairs if needed. You’ll also liaise with contractors, empty bins, and help with porterage tasks. Working hours are Monday to Friday with alternating shift patterns (06:30–14:30 and 10:00–18:00), and flexibility can be discussed at your meeting.

Salary: £13.45 per hour (£15.07 per hour including rolled up holiday pay), paid monthly.

Your Responsibilities

Opening up and locking the site at the beginning and end of the day
Carrying out minor repairs and DIY tasks to keep the school running smoothly
Completing compliance checks as required
Liaising with contractors when onsite
Emptying bins and keeping areas clear and tidy
Porterage duties, including moving supplies and furniture
Coordinating repairs for the school minibus if needed

What we're looking for

Reliable, professional, and proactive attitude
Good DIY and basic maintenance skills
Understanding of the importance of safeguarding, compliance, and health & safety
Ability to communicate clearly with colleagues, contractors, and school staff
