On Monday 14th April, our team spent the day redecorating the staff area at Rainbows. A fresh coat of paint might seem like a small gesture, but for the team at Rainbows — who do such vital, often emotionally demanding work — it makes a world of difference.
The staff at Rainbows were delighted with the service from our volunteers. Natalie Carr, Facilities Officer said: “The two volunteers did an absolutely brilliant job with the painting they completed. I went to see how they were getting on and they had already completed the job! They were fantastic.”
Meanwhile, over at Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice on Tuesday 15th and Wednesday 16th April, our volunteers tackled two important spaces: the admissions room and the staff kitchen.
The admissions room is often a family's first experience of Zoe’s Place — the space where they meet their child’s nurse and begin the journey of care. The staff kitchen, meanwhile, offers much-needed respite for the hardworking team, serving as a space for breaks, conversations, and quiet moments.
One of our operatives, another Gary, who volunteered at Zoe’s Place, reflected on the experience:
“I really enjoyed meeting and working with other TIB workers. It was great to contribute my time to a worthy community cause.”

We launched our volunteering service in 2024 to give back to the communities we serve. Through partnerships with organisations like Rainbows and Zoe’s Place, we help bring meaningful site projects to life — creating positive change for those who need it most. We take care of the details, from providing materials to reimbursing expenses, so our caretakers can focus on making a real difference.

Many of our volunteers come from skilled, hands-on backgrounds: engineering, the military, emergency services, trades, and many more. They're used to solving problems, fixing what needs fixing, and getting stuck in. Volunteering on projects like these offers a chance to continue using those skills — but with an added layer of purpose and connection.

If you’re passionate about supporting your local community, we’d love to hear from you. By becoming a caretaker with TIB Services, you get to use your skills to make a real difference in local schools every day. And through our volunteering programme, you’ll also have the chance to give back in other meaningful ways.
